Usage

The Lunette menstrual cup is a personal hygiene product; do not share the cup with others. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling your Lunette menstrual cup, and boil the cup for at least 5 minutes before the first use and between menstrual cycles.

Use, clean, and store the Lunette menstrual cup according to the instructions.

The Lunette menstrual cup can be worn for up to 12 hours. However, local restrictions may apply. Legislation in France, Germany, and Australia may limit usage time to a maximum of 8 hours; in France, overnight use is not permitted.

With proper care, you can use your Lunette menstrual cup for up to 10 years.

Check your Lunette menstrual cup for damage before each use. If defects or damage such as cuts or wear are detected, or if it has become discolored or stained due to improper cleaning, we recommend replacing the cup with a new one.

Use the Lunette menstrual cup only during menstruation. The Lunette menstrual cup should not be used for anything other than menstrual flow, such as postpartum bleeding, due to an increased risk of infection.

The Lunette menstrual cup is not a contraceptive, does not protect the user against sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy, and should not be used during intercourse. There is no need to remove the cup when urinating, but after a bowel movement, it may be necessary to check that the cup is still correctly in place. The Lunette menstrual cup can be used safely with an IUD or a contraceptive ring; however, we recommend consulting a doctor before use. Check the correct position of your IUD regularly – if you are unsure about its position or the threads, contact your doctor.

Pay attention to the correct removal technique and release the suction. Note that an IUD can, for various reasons, partially or completely move out of the uterus. Always ensure the seal is broken before removing the cup.

Insufficient cleaning can create a risk of microbiological infection. Never use harsh cleaning agents, vinegar, bleach, or strongly scented soaps, as these can damage the silicone and irritate the vagina.

If the length of the stem causes discomfort, you can shorten it with scissors. Remove the cup and trim the stem to your desired length. Be careful not to damage the stem or the cup with your fingernails.

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is a very rare but serious bacterial infection, the symptoms of which include, for example, sudden high fever, diarrhea, nausea, severe muscle pain and headache, respiratory symptoms, skin rash, and confusion. The condition is often associated with the use of high-absorbency tampons. TSS is rare with menstrual cup use. However, its early identification and treatment are vital, so if you experience any of the aforementioned symptoms while using a menstrual cup, remove the cup and seek medical attention immediately.
